Scenes inspired by the Sonic movies

The snowboard chase leads this group, followed by Team Sonic facing Shadow at a city crossing. These drawings adapt familiar movie situations into simpler line art. For a page with plenty of mechanical detail, try Shadow’s motorcycle or the giant robot; the temple showdown has a more open background.

Sonic and Shadow share the track here, but there are other ways to get moving. Tails flies over a bridge, Amy hops between stones, and Blaze takes to the rooftops. Sonic’s loop scene is the busiest of the bunch, with checkerboard panels running right around the track.

Eggman has brought his hovering vehicle, Metal Sonic attacks from above, and Amy has her hammer ready. Knuckles gets a page of his own, too, with robot parts flying from his punch. The scattered robot pieces make this one a busier page than the face-off with Metal Sonic.

Even Sonic has time for a book. This part of the collection swaps races for a window seat, a model airplane, cupcakes, and tea. Tails’ workbench is a good choice if you like little tools; Cream and Cheese keep things simpler at their tea table.

Sonic and Amy unpack a picnic, Shadow and Rouge settle over a chessboard, and Vector gets a sandwich that may need both hands. Shadow and Rouge’s chess game has some particularly small details. A sharp pencil will help with the pieces.

Sonic’s vampire cape and pumpkin bucket start the Halloween pages. Farther down, Cream carries a star wand, Rouge holds a masquerade mask, and Eggman shows off a pumpkin-headed robot. Silver has several pumpkin buckets floating around him, which leaves you a different face to color on each one.

Tails has wrapping paper to manage, Amy has gingerbread cookies fresh from the oven, and Knuckles carries the presents. For a quieter winter picture, choose Shadow with his mug beside a cabin. Cream’s snow bunny leaves a large white shape you can shade lightly in blue or lavender.

Tails explores a crystal cave, Rouge opens a treasure chest, and Vector and Charmy stop at a lighthouse. These pages give the setting more space, with bridges, stonework, and wooden structures around the characters. Rouge’s treasure is a good excuse to bring out the gold pencil.

Look for a butterfly with Tails, feed the ducks with Cream, or stop at Sonic’s campfire. Amy is busy planting roses; Blaze prefers arranging hers in a vase. Between the water, plants, and open sky, there’s plenty to color around the characters here.

Tails has a model biplane, Eggman is busy at a robot workbench, and Metal Sonic stands in a repair bay. Sonic takes a different approach with a lemonade stand. Its pitcher, drink, and lemon sign make a cheerful yellow accent against his blue quills.

Eggman’s vehicle has broad panels, while Metal Sonic’s joints and hands have smaller sections. Chaos Zero brings a completely different shape to the group with long liquid arms and a puddle beneath him. There’s also a less threatening problem for Orbot and Cubot: carrying a very large Christmas present.

Want the character without a whole scene? These pages leave most of the background blank. Pick Sonic with three rings, Tails waving, Amy beside her hammer, or another member of the cast. There are fewer tiny spaces to work around here than in the battle and workshop scenes.

For familiar character colors, start with blue for Sonic, orange-yellow for Tails, red for Knuckles, and pink for Amy. Keep Sonic’s muzzle and belly peach, and leave his gloves white. Shadow’s red stripes stand out against dark fur; a dark gray can keep the printed outlines easier to see than a heavy layer of black.

Super Sonic is a chance to use yellow and gold. In the giant robot picture, keep the armor cooler or darker so his small figure doesn’t disappear into it. For Chaos Zero, try pale and medium blues in the liquid shapes, leaving a few highlights white.

The backgrounds don’t have to follow the games or movies. Give a cabin a green door, change the gift wrap, or make the flowers a color you haven’t used on the characters. The blank areas on the simpler pages leave room for your own rings, clouds, or patterns.

Printing your Sonic coloring pages

Choose the PDF size that matches your paper: US Letter for 8.5 × 11 inches, or A4 for 210 × 297 mm. Open the PDF and check the print preview. If your printer clips the edge, use its fit-to-page setting.

Colored pencils work well for the smaller spaces around gloves, shoelaces, gears, and ornaments. If you’re using markers, put a spare sheet underneath to catch bleed-through. Print one page first when trying unfamiliar paper or markers.
