Different Types of Mushrooms
Compare the caps, stems, and clusters in these drawings. The forms are simplified for coloring; they are not an identification guide.
A mouse tends a morel cottage, king oyster characters plant a seedling, and a frog sits beneath a chanterelle. The little market brings several mushroom shapes together on one table.
These spotted-roof houses belong to the storybook side of the collection. A snail waits by one door; two chairs sit beneath another porch. Look for the clothesline between neighboring cottages.
A rabbit shelters under a cap, and a hedgehog rests on a fallen leaf. The turtle picture puts broad caps beside a cluster of slender bell shapes.
A teacup, a rain boot, and a hanging bowl become little mushroom gardens. On the jar page, try leaving most of the glass white so the mushrooms inside stand out.
One mushroom paints a leaf while another reads on a cushion. There are buttons to sort, a kite to fly, and a seedling to plant.
Pumpkins sit beside smiling mushrooms, and snow covers the cottage roofs. For the snowy pages, leave most of the snow white and add pale blue along a few edges.
Try alternating colors across the striped caps, or choose a few colors to repeat around a mushroom wreath. The funnel-shaped mushrooms have narrower spaces between their gills.
The plain button trio and bell-shaped pair have fewer small spaces. The tiny cottage has a round window and an arched door, while the mushroom family adds three simple faces.
Try cream stems and tan caps on the enoki, or warm browns in the morel pits. The broad bands on the turkey tail drawings give you room to alternate colors. For the cottages and mushroom characters, choose any palette you like.
These are simplified coloring illustrations, including fantasy scenes, rather than mushroom identification drawings.
